Chelsea Flower Show 2018

We wanted to take a moment to look at our work with Kate Gould at the Chelsea Flower Show 2018, we are proud to have worked with Kate Gould as part of the constructor’s team that help build her gold medal winning urban oasis, “The New West End Garden”.

Firstly, we would like to thank Kate Gould and her sponsors, New West End Company and Sir Simon Milton Foundation. It has been a privilege and honour to work with you on such a fantastic project. We have learnt so much and enjoyed every moment of the experience. Thank you.

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2018 has now finished, the garden has been dismantled, our tools cleaned and we can take a moment to reflect. It has been an amazing experience for us and being part of a gold medal winning team.

The New West End Garden was inspired by traditional London gardens to enabling small urban spaces to become a tranquil oasis in the heart of towns and cities. The design was calm and spread across multiple levels on a backdrop of traditional architecture and living wall to reflect traditional London squares and gardens. The communal garden is designed to provide all year round in the heart of the West End where it will be recreated once the show closes.

Kate Goulds’ design was a truly fascinating project, we had the opportunity to work with some unique materials and applications. One of the most exciting features was a paving technology developed by Pavegen that uses kinetic energy from the footfall of garden visitors, this energy is then used to power lighting and features throughout the space. This is a brilliant technology, have a look at the Pavegen website for the applications and projects they have work on. http://www.pavegen.com/
